About this deal

The School Trip is the spine-chilling new thriller from Miranda Smith that will keep readers up all night. Emma Howard is a teacher at North Ridge Elementary, and her young daughter, Claire, attends the school alongside her.

We also get the first-person narrative of the kidnapper thrown in, and “The Plan” is definitely unhinged. Miranda Smith’s masterful storytelling, well-crafted characters, and gripping storyline make it a must-read for anyone looking for a nail-biting, page-turner of a novel. I read mainly Mysteries and Thrillers, with over half of my reads being Advanced Reader Copies (ARCs) directly from the publisher/author.Gripping, addictive, unpredictable and completely chilling… I devoured page after page in just one sitting … A truly fantastic read which kept me awake far too late. A go to author for me, Smith never fails in delivering a compelling story and The School Trip was no exception. This is my first Miranda Smith read and I was convincingly impressed and I’m keen to attack more of her books. After losing her husband two years before, she is totally upset that she may have also lost her daughter and blames herself as she wonders if there is somehow a link between her husband's death and her daughter's disappearance.

Everything can change in an instant and it does for Emma, a kindergarten schoolteacher, when her daughter, Claire, goes missing on a school trip. Some Days Are Dark is a gripping, suspenseful story centered around bad choices and the possibility of second chances.Between the characters, the storyline and the reveals, this latest read from a talented author is a one that is completely recommended. Despite all these good things, Olivia feels like she is missing something, and this leads her to make the worst decision of his life. Still mourning the death of her husband, Emma is beyond devastated when she can't find her daughter. Short chapters make this a quick, entertaining read that kept me flipping the pages way past bedtime!

In addition, the last book I read had a young character, and I could not have been annoyed more by that kid’s behavior. The author, Miranda Smith, has done an excellent job of creating a tense and suspenseful atmosphere throughout the book. The plot is layered and revealed slowly, with twists and turns that will leave you guessing until the very end. Then soon Emma discovers some of those closest to her aren't at all who they appear to be and she begins to wonder just who can she trust?Emma becomes increasingly frustrated with the police officer in charge for slowing things down or keeping her in the dark.

Everything happened so fast and everyone was so focused on the missing girl that she had taken her eyes off of Claire while at the playground. The School Trip by Miranda Smith is a gripping psychological thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The author did a fantastic job of depicting the struggles and challenges faced by law enforcement officials during an investigation. As the police investigate, Emma soon realizes that some of her coworkers she thought were friends were anything but.
