The dust jacket came wrapped with a warning: "Not to be imported into the United States or Great Britain. It has never been published, and only fragments remain, although parts of it were recycled in other works, such as Tropic of Capricorn. Ohio (which was decided the same day in 1964), overruled the state court findings of obscenity and declared the book a work of literature.
