reading this book was like seeing my soul bared on a page and it’s such a different experience from anything else i’ve ever read. Sometimes because it hurts and sometimes because you're just not supposed to talk about what you want to talk about. Ia berharap bisa menyampaikan apa yang dahulu tak pernah tersampaikan, dan mulai menulis kalimat-kalimat indah yang pada kehidupan nyata cukup rumit disampaikan.

On my bookshelf, there is: I Wrote This For You, I Wrote This For You And Only You, I Wrote This For You Just The Words, I Wrote This For You 2007-2017, How to be Happy (Not a Self-Help Book. You are crying because you cannot imagine healing from whatever broke your heart or ripped your soul in half. It's sweet and not really bitter while also filled with, well, a certain type of melancholy that's utterly and absolutely relatable if you've ever been in a relationship and gotten out of one.If you have ever had anything troubling you, anything- big or small- burdening your head or your heart, you need to read this book.

Through the project, he was also able to have skateboards delivered to The Uganda Skateboard Union on behalf of Stacy Peralta, director of Dogtown And Z-Boys and Riding Giants and he’s previously acted as a creative consultant to Brian Wayne Transeau or “BT” (whose previous collaborators include Peter Gabriel, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and David Bowie, amongst others) on his last album, If The Stars Are Eternal, So Are You And I. The colors used and the intermittent pictures, the shapes made with words, the pages where only one word or few words were used and so much more. These are not just words -- these are stories that we see and feel every single day but we dare not speak of them. All I know is that I loved that poetry book so much that I would stick gossamer stickers of delicate pastel flowers all over its pages and I'd read page 107 over and over when I felt sad, letting the words wash over me. I know that would make these books less special, but like I said: Iain Thomas really seems to be an advocate for love. There are days when everyone needs you to be strong, even if you're dying inside, and you can only cry when no one's looking because you're petrified of letting them down. It’s all either “you” or “I”— sometimes the words will encourage us to think things, and other times they will give us advice.

This is a book about being in touch with yourself and allowing yourself to feel, regardless of how much it hurts. Things always feel like they’re moving and I never get the chance to catch up to them and when I do, it feels like it all goes too quickly. Felt very ruminative to read at certain points, but it was still a powerfully formatted book that I think has potential to offer a lot of comfort to people who struggle with self-acceptance. Highly recommended for anyone who wishes they loved poetry more than they do, This could just change your mind in the most fabulous way.In tune with his usual style of making the reader feel heard, spoken to, and validated, each page is filled with gentle reminders that the reader is Here.
