De Rossi is a business mongol who owns most of the island, especially the partying business. There is an instant connection of attraction which leads to obsession from both sides. De Rossi can’t understand why but he wants to protect her while trying to run his businesses. As the plot goes along, you find out that both of them have their own secrets that leads them to become enemies for a short period. Even though they become enemies, they are still lovers and wanting to help each other. They eventually work out their issues and work together to destroy her husband and De Rossi’s rivals. When She Unravels is an 18+ dark mafia romance with mature themes, profanity, and plenty of steam. It's book one in The Fallen series but can be read as a standalone. Honestly, h’s escape was probably a little too easy but I’m glad for her. She ends up in Ibiza and convinces H to give her a trial run for a job. It’s instant oil and water with them. Their enemies to lovers vibe was on point.

Of course, things get hairy when he realizes who she actually is. I liked this section of the book the least. I don’t think he handled it well, not the part when he was being mean to her or when he was brooding and feeling bad for it. I know she was always going to understand why he behaved as he did but *I* didn’t forgive him for his treatment of her so it made it hard to root for him. Damiano has mad it on my top book boyfriend list’s and one of my favourite mafia men. He is a sexy, demanding, and protective mafia boss with such a kind side. Especially with his sister. I loved the “happy sigh he let out when I laid my head on his sleeping chest” scene. No stop. Where is my mafia capo? 😂When She Unravels is a dark mafia romance that I thought was okay, but the potential is there, especially with the characters, our heroine, who I wish was much more developed. the hero was very tepidly jealous/possessive. I wanted the author to allow a little more give in the PC stuff so that the H could be more aggressive and intense. Beta men are bores. This is the mafia genre. Readers of the genre are expecting an intense possessive hero. This book is the first book I've ever read by Gabrielle and she had exceeded my expectations so although I really don't like using Goodreads , I HAD to leave a review cuz this book is WOW . Finally a Mafia Romance that doesn't have the usual names everyone uses and same story line. This was BRILLIANT.

It started promising & them just fell flat :/ I was gonna dnf but then wanted to know how this wrapped up so I skimmed it but this was meh imo :/ This book could be a 5 stars for me. But, I'm not a fan of insta love they have. It could've been a great enemies to lovers. She‘s stunning! Ale is so strong and caring about the people she love. She suffered so much and was able to leave her family and old life behind. She deserves the world. this book was really intent on rah-rah-rah Girl Power… but it felt lopsided. The hero never got a chance to shine. He was emasculated at all times. He bowed to her on everything and wasn’t even capable of the stuff that was in his hands. I expect a little more intensity of personality with a mafia hero. He was pretty beta.the author ate and left no crumbs . I find it hard to believe this was her first mafia romance because she aced it . The world building was AMAZING : simple , straight to the point , no fluff .the WRITING got me hooked from start to finish . I COULDN'T put the book down . The book was ok but it dragged.... Val rescues a women from her husband's clutches. She then leaves to run away to an island in Spain. Just when she thinks she is free and clear of the mafia she meets. Damiano. It's definitely a small work when Dams sister and Val see each other again. Valentina is feisty and catches Damiano’s attention in his nightclub in Ibiza. The chemistry between the two is sooo good. Lo que más me gustó es que Valentina es una mujer luchadora, dura y fuerte. Puede defenderse por sí sola y lo demostró.

I fell in love with this book within the first few chapters. I loved this so much, I have found a new insta buy author. What you did feels violent, but it wasn’t. By its nature, violence is peak selfishness. What you did wasn’t that. You acted with the goal of defending a friend.” Damiano is a top-tier boyfriend. Let me tell you all the reasons why! He is broody, possessive, and dedicated to his family. He has peak touch-her-and-you-die vibes, which I am living for. The party goes all night and all morning here.” Sounds like I’m about to become a creature of the night. It could be a good thing. After all, in the dark there are more places to hide.”Loved the danger, the mystery and the helplessness (at the start) for Vale. The way she really become her own when her life went to complete chaos. My first ever mafia romance! Why didn’t anyone tell me writing these crazy alpha heroes would be this much fun? Safety - again I’d call this safe as there is no cheating between H/h. You definitely feel no sympathy for the psycho ex.

The side characters were interesting and I can't wait for the second book's release cuz I'm going to eat it up . I really enjoyed the premise of this book. We get to meet Valentina and what is going on in her life and it's not good. She was forced to marry her father's best soldier and during the 2 months they were married he made her do horrific acts that will never leave her. I was horrified when it was described and especially how her mother/father knew about it all and what she was being forced to do and yet they didn't care and believed it to be his wifely duties.Overall I enjoyed the writing style. The choices the author made early helped me move past stuff that would typically annoy me.
