For Dell XPS 8950 Desktop, you have options to configure it with a 125W 12th Generation Intel Alder Lake 10-core Intel Core i5-12600K up to a 125W 16-core Intel Core i9-12900K with a boost speed up to 5.20 GHz. Performance of the Core i7-10700K in our Blender test shows that it trails the more powerful Intel Core i9-10900K, as well as AMD’s Ryzen 9 3900X and Ryzen 9 5900X CPUs, in the BMW benchmark. In fact, the Core i7-10700K’s rendering performance is similar to AMD’s Ryzen 7 3800X and the Ryzen 7 3800XT.

Intelligently and purposefully designed
Speaking of the power supply, the 500-watt unit included isn’t technically up to spec for what Nvidia requires for the RTX 3070, which is 650 watts. I haven’t noticed a drop in performance as a result, but you are wading into uncertain waters outside the recommendations of Nvidia. For a prebuilt desktop, that’s a bit strange. Dell XPS 8940 has four RAM slots and supports dual channel memory configuration. Dell XPS 8940 is a gaming computer and comes assembled with a dedicated graphics card. According to the specification In the Classroom benchmark, the Core i7-10700K’s performance is very similar to the Core i9-9900K, though rendering time took slightly longer than AMD’s Ryzen 7 2800 X and XT series. Stepping up to a 10th Gen Intel Core i9 would help decrease rendering time even more. Graphics performance The XPS Desktop Special Edition was a smidge behind the GeForce RTX 3080 duo, but it could easily be used for graphics design and other demanding 3D tasks.The Core i7-10700K in the XPS Desktop Special Edition was behind the 10-core Core i9 K-series in the others, but its time indicates that it is more than capable of workloads like this. Yes. It’s not for die-hard PC enthusiasts, but it’s a fantastic desktop tower for the average shopper. The DisplayPort (DP) is the most widely used digital interface for transmitting digital video and audio between display devices and PCs. It is good to see that the Dell XPS 8940 is featuring a DisplayPort 1.4. The post version is important if you target higher resolutions with high refresh rate. The Dell XPS 8940 comes with ten USB ports in total. Having more USB ports is always better, but also pay attention to the version of those USB ports. Higher version ports support faster transfer speeds. It is nice to see that the model has a USB 3.1 port. This interface is using 10Gb/s connection and it's very useful when you transfer big files to external drives. Video ports The storage drives in my unit include a front mounted 3.5-inch hard drive and an M.2 Type-2240 SSD in the motherboard’s only M.2 SSD slot just below the CPU cooler.
