Reasonable contrast, in-line with expectation, strong gamma consistency and a pleasing luminance adjustment range Input lag is where the Alienware 25 really shines, as it should in a gaming monitor. Using an HDFury Diva HDMI matrix, we measured a 4.1-millisecond input lag on a 60Hz signal, which means an input lag of just over 1ms at 240Hz. That makes the Alienware 25 the fastest gaming monitor we’ve tested to date. In some rare cases, dark pixels may not quite change into brighter shades in time with the refresh rate, which can result in visible ghosting behind fast-moving objects when dark pixels are predominant in the picture (dark scenes).
The answer is almost certainly no -- it's not repairable. Dell doesn't repair monitors. If they fail, they're replaced. But not for a fall, that is not part of the Dell monitor warranty. And very few if any repair shops will undertake a monitor repair. Beyond the unavailability of screens, monitors are generally not designed to be disassembled for repair purposes - it's very common for screens to be fixed in place with adhesive. Further, the screen is a majority of the cost of the monitor -- it's not an economic proposition to repair these, even if parts are available.

at 24.5 inches is on the small and low-res side, but again, the monitor is designed for competitive esports gaming, where you want to be able to see the entire screen without darting your eyes around. The lower 1080p resolution ensures you can push as many frames as possible to reach that super-fast refresh rate, so while it isn't ideal for desktop work, it's all your graphics card can probably handle for gaming this smooth. And if you can't quite hit 360Hz, G-Sync is there to ensure you don't get any stutter or screen tearing. The high refresh rate and frame rate combination can be particularly attractive for competitive gamers, but also appreciated by fans of less competitive fast-paced action. The Dell Alienware AW2521HF (now designated AW2521HFA in UK and EU) aims to find a nice balance between speed and image quality, combining a 240Hz refresh rate with the superior colour quality of an IPS-type panel. Adaptive-Sync support is included, allowing AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia’s ‘G-SYNC Compatible Mode’ to be used. We put this monitor through its paces, seeing how it compares to the more common TN options such as the impressively responsive Acer XN253Q X. The Super Fast and Extreme modes are too aggressive; they push the pixel response time too much, which results in inverse ghosting or pixel overshoot. As shown in the image above, the monitor uses the usual RGB (Red, Green and Blue) stripe subpixel layout. This is the default expected by modern operating systems such as Microsoft Windows and Apple’s MacOS. As a Windows user you don’t need to run through the ClearType wizard, although you may still wish to adjust this according to your preferences. As a Mac user there’s no need to worry about text fringing from non-standard subpixel layouts. The subpixel layout and arrangement is normal and we had no subpixel-related concerns related to sharpness or text clarity on this model. When responding to an input, the AW2518HF was measured (by Tom’s Hardware) to have an absolute (end-to-end) input lag of just 19 ms, which is incredibly low. Similarly low were the tests carried out for the AW2521HF (by Rtings.com) that was found to have 2.7 ms of input lag (not absolute) at its native resolution and refresh rate, increasing to 3.1 ms with VRR enabled, 9.7 ms at 60 Hz, and 12.7 ms at 60 Hz with VRR enabled. The stand is sturdy and versatile with up to 130mm height adjustment, +/- 20° swivel, +/- 90° pivot, -5°/21° tilt and 100x100mm VESA mount compatibility. Warmer than factory defaults, but far from ‘Warm’ on our unit with a high colour temperature and cool tint to the image.
