In other words, the preset labeled as "super fast" (for example) now has what I assume to be roughly the same amount of overdrive gain attached to it, as the "normal" preset has in non-VRR operation. Ergonomic functionalities include 130mm height adjustment, 90-degree pivot, 20-degree swivel to the left and right, -5, 25-degree tilt, and 100 x 100 VESA mount compatibility. The screen is covered with ananti-glare matte(3H) coating. Thought some might find this helpful; I went through and calibrated my AW2518HF with DisplayCal to the BT.1886 gamma standard it's using. Using the one, labeled as "super fast" won't make your monitor faster... it's just a misleading name they gave to the stronger overdrive preset... Installatie op de harde schijf met het bestand Setup.exe voor ALIENWARE_AW2518HF-MONITOR_A00-00_DRVR_CFVF0.EXE Dell’s well-known for its premium image quality, and the image straight out of the box didn’t disappoint. The deal-breaker for most users is that the Dell AW2518HF 240Hz gaming monitor features the standard 1920×1080 resolution and a TN panel, which, with the performance put aside, provides an inferior image quality to even some cheaper displays.

low contrast and high brightness (for better response times), maybe contrast 42/68 and brightness 99/75 - you might not like it This Alienware AW2518HF gaming monitor review talks about all the technical specifications of this product. It also gives you the pros and cons of this fantastic gaming monitor. The former brightens up the screen (3 levels), so you can more easily spot enemies in dark areas while the latter consists of three functions: an on-screen timer, an FPS counter, and Display Alignment for multitasking. Design & Connectivity Anyway when I put it on normal overdrive it has more input lag and so much motion blur I get headache.

A slick and speedy gaming monitor

This won’t be of much interest for serious and professional gamers, but Alienware is making concessions here to gamers who like a bit of flair with their (expensive) gaming rigs. Built with premium materials in a thin, easy-to-adjust design, the 25" gaming monitor stays true to the expert Alienware engineering gamers have come to expect. Dynamic Contrast (I found that having this on actually helped with the ghosting and motion blur issue a little bit in some cases)

Additionally, this OSD menu is easy to navigate and intuitive. The six OSD buttons are right at the base of the screen’s bezel. TheDell Alienware AW2518HF FreeSync monitor offers a first-class quality design with ultra-thin bezels and a steady metal tripod stand under which you can conceal the cables.

In even simpler terms: You didn't fix anything. You're basically using the "normal" response time preset now, it's just labeled differently. (Which is by the way perfectly OK. One should use the overdrive preset, which results in the least amount of image artifacts, not the one which is labeled the most eye-catchingly.) There is no doubt that the Alienware 25 AW2518HF gaming monitor is superior. It sports high-end gaming performance without costing as much as the usual Alienware products. Compared to the other Alienware gaming monitors, this is quite a cheap model. We discuss all the other special gaming features in detail in this review. I own the AW2521H but I have not experience any frame skipping nor ghosting doing the tests on testufo. as well as the gaming portion seems great! Meaning: If you use the "normal" preset without g-sync/freesync, you'll get more or less the same results. Power cable connector | 2. (2x) HDMI port | 3. Line-out port| 4. USB downstream port with Power Charging

Thanks for the reply. What about gpu scaling or display scaling, I read on another post that gpu scaling is more consistent nowadays that it is mostly flawless? Does the rx580 fall into this category or since the aw2518hf is a pretty good monitor, the display scaling would have less input lag? From my own in game feeling, the display scaling feels faster/smoother? The gaming features of an AW2518HF gaming monitor are quite impressive. The OSD or On-Screen Display menu sports a plethora of excellent gaming features. Examples are the pre-calibrated screen pre-sets (RTS, FPS, RPG) and the three customizable gaming profiles. So, are you an avid gamer who is looking at future-proofing your gaming monitor ? The Alienware 25 AW2518HF gaming monitor is the best option for you. It sports a 1920 x 1080 resolution and many other gaming features. – Alienware 25 AW2518HF Technical Specifications
