About this deal

Once Hana gets more invested in trying to get a little peace and quiet, it improves - there’s a story with a fortune teller that’s pretty predictable but I still liked a lot. The comedic timing in that one is pretty sharp. a b c Hodgkins, Crystalyn (October 6, 2021). "Mieruko-chan Horror Comedy TV Anime Reveals 3 More Cast Members". Anime News Network . Retrieved October 6, 2021. Nov 28 Detective Conan Manga Goes on Hiatus for 30th Anniversary, 27th Film's Title & Date Revealed I recommend this manga for those interested in the mysterious, occult, paranormal, etc. Not the best but it is very good. Before reading this manga I never would have thought that horror and comedy could actually successfully mix. The closest thing to it might be the movie Cabin in the Woods, but even that doesn't manage to be genuinely scary enough to really be called horror. However, Mieruko-chan is somehow both genuinely funny and genuinely scary, and actually uses each genre to highlight the other.

Manga

As a horror comedy, Mieruko-chan does its best to showcase the character personalities. This is especially true for our poster girl, Miko who shows her normal cool self while putting up a poker face whenever she sees the supernatural. In contrast, Hana injects a huge amount of her playfulness. Studio Passione takes adventage of opportunities to throw the pair together in both normal and awkward moments to stir up an audience reaction. Sometimes, that also includes the supernatural. And before anyone asks, there's actually a surprisingly amount of fan service in the show. It appears the anime loves to showcase Miko's chest and legs whenever it gets the chance. Thanks to her appetite, Hana is also a target for fan servicy camera angles, most specifically aimed at her boobs. It's similar to the manga but the anime turns it up for the first few episodes. Otherwise, I am pleased to say that the animation quality lives up to expectations with its colorful chereography, character designs, and highly decorated OP song performed by the ultra talented Sora Amamiya. For those who claim to be "mystics" here on earth, practicing meditations or rituals to achieve mystical experiences as with tarot or ancient practices, this manga may be a refreshing reminder of their journey practicing such rituals in the modern setting. Mieruko-chan is great so far. As a fan of both horror and the Slice of Life genre, this series depicting the mundanity of everyday life spliced with the unearthly experiences of wandering creatures on earth gives a sense of personal connection to the reader. Mieruko-chan is one of a kind. A manga that shines brighter than most manga. It’s what we would call an hidden gem. It’s something you didn’t know you needed but were still looking for. First of all, let’s be clear that what I sad applies for horror fans. This is a love letter to all of us, bored with all of those what-so-called horror books, those that they never leave an impression to you, and you just give up on the genre. Ladies and Gentlmen, Mieruko-chan gave to all of us readers hope. So yeah, without further distractions, let’s get into it and see what’s

The art of the creatures are perfect with their grotesque but real features, the main characters of the story in their design and personalities are memorable. Enjoyment - Not much to say in terms of enjoyment but the manga is great its good to read on a car/bus ride, library idk man just some place to chill.

And speaking of, I’m very nervous about this new spiritualist, who was apparently Godmother’s last apprentice and the one I suspect sent her that photo… The fact that she won’t teach people anymore and that he’s so… creepy make me wonder what may happen… bad enough Miko has those creepy shrine maidens to deal with… now she has this weirdo too? with its episodic nature. For example, chapter 4 + 4.5 melted my heart. While he characters and plot were predictable, the execution through pacing and art made it brilliant. I think my biggest concern with this series is that it’s not entirely apparent if there’s any sort of ruleset in place right now or the author’s just making it up as they go. If they are, they’re doing a great job fitting it all together, but it runs the risk of being much more prone to falling apart as things continue. And it veers hard into some weird ecchi vibes at points, leaning into male gaze and posing and such. To my own surprise, I really liked Miko’s friend Hana, who overcomes her introduction as a giant pair of boobs to turn, if not into a fully realized character, then at least a clearly good friend. The two provide a cute contrast to one another. As for the characters, even though some of them aren't really anything special you can tell that you need to have this contrast between wonderfully written characters, such as the main character, and someone more "normal" like her best friend for the story to keep the balance between the real world and the more obscure paranormal one. Also, I'm also very intrigued by the development that some side characters are going to have in the next chapters, but I'll stop here for now and say nothing more. Just be sure to look forward to it.

SPY × FAMILY, Kusuriya no Hitorigoto Win Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Award 2019". Anime News Network. August 22, 2019 . Retrieved November 26, 2021. Mieuruko-chan is rather unique. It's a story about monstrous spirits that has little to no action whatsoever. There are definitely shows and manga that have taken unique spins on the idea of spirits–such as MP100–but none in the way that Mieuruko-chan has, at least from my experience. Mieruko-Chain can see the dead. She just chooses to ignore them. She doesn't want them knowing that she can see them. Mostly because she doesn't want them following her around everywhere. But when she goes to school and notices a lot of spirits following her best friend around she tries to find a solution to stop them from showing up so much. Hence we get plenty of funny situations and a rather sad and tender moment by the very end that made me want to read more. incite the feeling of creepiness in both of its characters and the viewers. But the reliance on this element in the anime does get aggravatingly repetitive and can lose its purpose. Now mind you the story while filled with ghastly ghost beings of various degrees of realism and strange shapes this is not entirely a horror story as those around Miko continue to live their lives regardless of Miko trying to keep her cool with strange things around her. In fact some of the best parts of the book that I enjoyed were not the very expressive character reactions or the monster like beings that fuel Miko's nightmares but the times when her ability to see ghosts turns out beneficial like when she and her friend find an abandoned kitten and find it a new home or a particular scene at the end of the book which was super touching. If you want to find out more I guess you will have to read it for yourself. :)

Miko’s been saved by the shrine maidens three times, fulfilling their implied contract with her. But now that she has no defence against the spirits she’s seeing, what lengths will she go to to make sure she’s safe? The whole premise of "a girl sees spooky ghosts and is scared but keeps her cool" sounds like something that would wear itself thin almost immediately—and indeed, that is exactly what happens! The this is a manga that starts off with one joke and a bizarrely leering camera, that eventually turns into something that is pretty good and interesting.
