Firstly, the opening is not the same as PDM Layton. We all love the smooth apple opening of PDM Layton, but Loyal Agar starts with dry amber and bergamot, which is very distant from the PDM Layton. This brand, created in 2020, looks like an amazing "one-region-brand."The Luxodor office is located in Dubai, andproduction is in the UAE, but most of its distribution is located in former USSR countries, like Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan... And for some reason, the brand works in New Zealand and is very well known in the Philippines. Before diving into the review, let’s talk about Luxodor for a moment. Luxodor is a UAE-based fragrance brand. Luxodor is renowned for offering affordable clones of popular fragrances. And here I’m with Loyal Agar, the clone of PDM Layton. I will not tire of repeating that I love oud oil (oud, agarwood, eaglewood). A rich, unusual woody scent with animalic undertones, it is a perfume in its own right, dense and mighty. It is not for nothing that at one time Indian attar and spice traders managed to interest buyers from Arab countries with this rare oil. In the 21st century, European perfume manufacturers have also become interested in Arab tastes as well, after which the oud compositions of M. Micallef, Montale and Roja Dove appeared, and then the fashion for oud blossomed. Just like PDM Layton, the projection level and the longevity are almost the same. It easily lasts like 7-8hrs with a strong projection.

Significantly, Loyal Agar is more potent than PDM Layton itself. The longevity and the projection level both are higher than PDM Layton. But Loyal Agar is not an identical twin of PDM Layton. Let’s dive into the fragrance to explore it. Just like PDM Layton, Dusk starts with a smooth wave of Apple mixed with lavender. You may find some pepper in the opening. But trust me, after 15-20 mins this cologne exactly mimics PDM Layton.

But surprisingly, after an hour, it perfectly mimics the drydown of PDM Layton. You’ll find the same woody vibe along with some spices and vanilla, just like the Layton. Fresh and sweet,it mightseem like afougere fragrance, but no, it's more in the "fresh woody oriental" triangle. Over the past ninety years, this triangle has become almost weightless and almost transparent.Layton Parfums de Marly can be cited as an example. As for durability,no question—it's excellent. The top notes of Layton are apple, lavender, mandarin orange, and bergamot. In the middle, they chose violet, jasmine, and geranium.

But just like with many other things, the word "oud" or "agar" in the perfume name does not guarantee anything in the composition. Today, one such example, Loyal Agar by Luxodor, will appear in our perfume review. A brand representative recommended this perfume to me as one of the most popular masculine fragrances in their Signature Collection.

So, finding an alternative fragrance would be your best chance to smell like PDM Layton without losing an arm or a leg. If we compare Loyal agar side by side with PDM Layton, there are some differences. Loyal Agar is less fruity and sweet than Layton. On the other hand, Loyal Agar is better in the case of performance. However, the opening of CS I is not the same as PDM Layton. PDM Layton opens with an apple burst, but CS I opens with bergamot and some flowers in this case. Instead of the animalic oudy spirit, in Loyal Agar we are greeted by a radiant, delicate freshness reminiscent of lavender, coriander and rosewood oil. It seems complex and natural, with a slight floral and woody undertone, but it's completely synthetic;I think it's Coranol. You have smelled the familiar metallic accent of this fresh transparent note in combination with others, especially in men's fragrances. For example, in Dune for Men, Issey Miyake Pour Homme, andBvlgari for Men. A slight hint of green apple and violet powder were added to fill the bare freshness with a white cloud. Well, amber and spices in the base make this fragrance more stunning. As they used precisely the same elements as PDM Layton in the middle without jasmine. But I’m pretty much sure you’ll not find any differences between these two after the opening.

Specifically, the only difference between Royal Equestrian and PDM Layton is the opening. PDM Layton opens with a sparkling sour apple, while Royal Equestrian begins with a smooth sweet apple. If you look at the notes of this cologne, you might not see any differences between Dusk and Layton.

Just like PDM Layton, the longevity and the projection level of Royal Equestrian is also staggering. It easily lasts like 8-10hrs with a heavy projection. In fact, the base is more “Laytonish” than the Layton itself. In the time of base, it was still providing 3ft-4ft scent cloud. That time I was like, “My God! I found a gem”. After some time, in the base CS I replaced woody notes with ambroxan, which makes CS I more versatile and younger. For some time, it feels like a combination of Sauvage and Layton. In a word, Layton is a pure masterpiece. It’s a fantastic smelling cologne and a huge compliments getter. But the price tag of PDM Layton is pretty high.
