An external button could potentially be installed to operate that switch. I wish that Evercross had made that accessible as a handle bar control On the downside, it doesn’t have gears and there is also no way to pedal it. It can suffer from slowdown on steeper hill climbs, especially if you’re closer to the max user weight. But other than that, it’s zippy, has a good range and controls very well. You’ll get up to 45km/h top speed with this EV (around 28mph) depending on the usual things that can slow you down such as incline and how much you weigh and are transporting.
