About this deal

It’s bigger and wider than some of the more compact handheld vacuums on the market though. It’s certainly not a vacuum you’d want to keep on display, which is the case for slimline and stylish handheld vacuums like the Shark WV200UK. Weight isn’t everything when it comes to ease of use though. We’ve tested several handheld vacuums that are technically lightweight but feel bulky or heavy to hold, often due to poor design choices. Fortunately, we didn’t feel this was the case when testing the V7 Trigger, as it always feels balanced and easy to manoeuvre around the home.

Although it’s no shorter than the V15, the collection bin is smaller at 350ml, and it doesn’t contain as many of Dyson’s cyclones, reducing the overall suction power to 150AW. Don’t let that put you off, though, because there’s still enough power here to perform a fantastic cleaning job, albeit in a smaller unit that doesn’t take up as much room, so is easier to store. It’s also a good deal cheaper than the V15. Uprights tend to have the largest capacity, so you spend less time emptying them, and you can cover larger areas in a shorter amount of time than other models. On the downside, they’re heavier than other models, and the mains cord and detachable hose mean they’re not the most convenient type of vacuum to use on stairs.

The Dyson V7 Trigger is ideal for use in tight spaces - but it's not powerful enough to be your only vacuum cleaner

During our testing, the V7 Trigger provided excellent cleaning performance. The motorised tool was great for getting fluff and hair out of carpets, while the strong suction meant it handled both small particles and larger debris on hard floors. We also found it to be lightweight and easy to use around the home. In almost all cases, the Dyson Trigger button is broken in the above problems and you will have to replace it. How the Dyson Trigger button works

Disassemble the housing (unscrew two screws next to the handle and four screws around the housing at the top) On the upside, we like how easy it is to access the V7’s Trigger. There’s no need to dismantle the vacuum to wash it, as the filter pulls out from the top of the main cylinder. Emptying & Cleaning However, we found cleaning pet hair to be a task where the MAX mode is essential, particularly if the hair is caught in carpets or sofas. This greatly reduces run-time, although the standard suction mode still does a decent job for loose hairs. Price & Value for Money The bagless technology is somewhat self-explanatory and means that you don’t have to spend extra money on replacement bags. While that’s a positive, emptying the dust container on these cleaners does produce dust clouds, no matter how careful you are. This means bagless cleaners aren’t the best for those who suffer from dust allergies. Replacing the Dyson button is not a difficult job, but it does consist of many actions that require careful attention. Although replacement does not require technical knowledge, you do need to keep your head up and use the right tools. In this guide I will help you step by step. When should you replace the Dyson Trigger button?green laser light that helps you spot where your hard floor is dirty; and the anti-tangle brush bar floor head for carpet, which guides hair off the roller and into the collection bin before it can wrap itself around the roller and become a problem.

It sometimes struggles with tougher dirt when using the crevice tool though, which is worth keeping in mind for cleaning between seats and other awkward locations that the motorised tool can’t access. The relatively large design can also be unwieldy in small cars – and don’t expect it to generate enough power to remove heavy soiling on floor mats. The screen on the vacuum unit also has new features and while it still helps you choose your cleaning mode and shows you how long your battery has left, it also reports on how well the V15 is cleaning your home and what kind of dust and dirt particles it’s collecting. The Dyson V7 Trigger is a handheld-only version of the popular V7 series. Read our full review to find out whether it’s a match for your vacuum cleaner requirements. The mini motorised tool is great for cleaning most surfaces, but it’s too bulky for awkward locations. It may also be too abrasive for delicate surfaces. For this reason, Dyson has included the following tools:Note: There are two suction power modes on this model. Dyson has confusingly named the regular mode as “Powerful” and the boost mode as “MAX.” Don’t be fooled – the “Powerful” mode is just the standard suction setting. Tools & Accessories There’s an increase in the suction, naturally, with this new vacuum’s stated suction power upgraded to 240 air watts, compared with 185 air watts in the equivalent V11. However, the headline innovations in this model are located in its motorised heads.

And in max mode, the suction is second-to-none. I'd say you'd be hard pressed to find a handheld that does the same job on both carpets and hard surfaces. The next job on the list was removing fine pet hair and hay from the living room rug. Again, the V7 Trigger rose to the challenge at the regular setting, clearing the area in little more than ten seconds. The MAX mode proved helpful for deeply entwined clusters of hair at the edges, leaving the rug looking brighter than I remembered. The V7 Trigger weighs just 1.38kg, so it’s considerably lighter than corded vacuums. It’s also lighter than most cordless vacuums, largely because it doesn’t have a wand or full-size floorhead. If you need a lightweight vacuum cleaner for convenient cleaning, then the Trigger is a great choice. The Absolute model comes with three of these in the box: a hard floor head with a laser that highlights the dust on your floor to give you proof of your clean; a new High Torque Head that combs hair from itself as it vacuums your carpets; and a smaller motorised head for furniture and stairs with a unique corkscrew-shaped brush that releases hair from itself as it spins. How does the V7 Trigger compare to other handheld vacuums though? And is it worth the hefty price tag? Read our Dyson V7 Trigger review to find out. Overview of the Dyson V7 Trigger Handheld Vacuum CleanerWe think the Dyson V7 Trigger is an excellent handheld vacuum. The 30-minute run-time is long enough for almost any small cleaning job, plus we found it provides great cleaning performance on almost any surface.
