I thought the pacing was perfect in this book. It was fast and full of action but without being frantic. It gave me time to enjoy the story, to immerse myself in it, enjoy Hazel's past, and wonder about her future. Alex and Amber are fantastic supporting characters, and I can't wait to learn more about Shadowborn as I'm sure he's dodgy. No reason, just because! 😉

After that is Witches Get Stitches and yes, book 3. It follows Violet (one of the sister twins and powerful seer) and Nico (a werewolf and singer/songwriter) as they expertly avoid their feelings for each other, open a tattoo shop together, and try to find a way to permanently help the werewolf community. Nico is actually Mateo’s cousin, too! I didn't like how Hazel handled pretty much anything in this book. She's very immature, and for all of her tough girl posturing she lets herself become powerless pretty much constantly.Literally nothing. There is some proofreading errors but don't judge the book based on that. It's really, really good. Definitely worth ignoring some spelling mistakes for. Leonardo DiCaprio. And THE Leo? Yes, Leonardo DiCaprio is also known to have a resting asshole face:BUT. But. He was a possessive jerk in certain sections of this book. I was HIGHLY unimpressed with how he judged Jules after they broke up, and honestly who he was 12 years ago. I get that there was a whole true mates thing happening there that added to his opinions, but it felt toxic as hell. And I’m not sure he really redeemed himself. I kind of let it go more than he got in my good graces I guess. Which is a bummer. I did see that he had changed and grown from 12 years ago, but I think that’s why the whole judging Jules thing really made me mad.
