Cheetor's cheetah head chest plate can be removed to reveal details meant to represent his "inner workings". He comes with three pairs of hands altogether: two closed fists, two hands for holding weaponry and accessories, and two clawing hands. He also includes what his product description calls a "tail blaster", though it is more closely based on his traditional "gut gun" quasar rifle, with two compatible translucent purple blast effects. Finally, he also comes with a small Energon crystal accessory. This version of Cheetor was repurposed as Cataclysm in the Beast Wars: Uprising story " Derailment". The robot- and beast-mode legs were re-used for the Hasbro PulseCon-exclusive War for Cybertron Trilogy " Covert Agent Ravage". The original mold was also used to make Legacy Nightprowler.

This figure was reissued by TakaraTomy on March 31, 2019 to coincide with the release of Masterpiece Beast Megatron. Much like Optimus Primal, at some point during the development of The Last Knight, Cheetor was considered to appear in the movie. A few designs were conceptualized during the film's production (see #Gallery). Part of the fourth wave of Kingdom Deluxe Class toys, Shadow Panther is a retool of Cheetor from the same line, with a new head based on the original figure's mutant head. He transforms into a "panther" in 20 steps. Shadow Panther's tail can detach to become a bladed whip, similar to Cheetor's Transmetal toy. His beast mode has fully articulated limbs and his jaw can open and close.

Cheetor, Rattrap, Dinobot and Rhinox were forced to evacuate the Axalon when a fight caused Rhinox's new defense system to go out of control. A Better Mousetrap Later, after Primal had been infected with a Predacon virus which caused uncontrollable rage, Optimus managed to persuade Cheetor to release him from his confinement, only for the Maximal leader to head off on a one-bot mission against the Predacons. Cheetor and Optimus Primal chased Megatron through a portal, emerging on Gaia in the ruin where the super-powerful Energon Quartz had been discovered, which led him and several other Maximals and Predacons to engage in a series of one-on-one battles to attempt obtaining the Quartz's powers for their own gain.

Tigatron's comrade Snowstalker was killed by incidental fire during a battle, and Cheetor tried unsuccessfully to comfort Tigatron. However,the other Maximal announced he would no longer be a part of the Beast Wars. Law of the Jungle After Megatron called a truce and the Maximals needed to find out what he was up to, Cheetor suggested that Rattrap infiltrate the Predacon base unarmed, so as to not violate the truce. Rattrap was less than impressed with the suggestion. In the end, Tigatron did the infiltrating, and the other Maximals covered his escape as Rhinox and Cheetor "intercepted" Terrorsaur with a sheet of metal. Before the Storm Sadly, this release has no individual-identification code on the bag, requiring you to use the feel-through-the-bag method or just buy blind and hope. After the quantum surge, Cheetor acquired a Transmetal form that gave his robot mode the organic attributes that his beast mode once possessed. The upgrade gave Cheetor more power and agility than ever before, and this new body had flip-out cyber-thrust wings that gave him additional speed and limited flight. Transmetals Cheetor bio Down but not out, the Maximals began preparing their defenses for the impending Vehicon assault. The shields did not hold long, and the Maximals found themselves fighting against hordes of drones. The Maximals used spark power bestowed on them by the Oracle to decimate the drones, until Megatron took the Oracle from them. Cheetor found himself facing the three Vehicon Generals on his own, but was able to use the anti-gravity generators to fire Obsidian and Strika into orbit. Cheetor struggled with Thrust, but finally used a spark extractor against him. He was unprepared to face his next foe—Megatron, newly installed into a duplicate of Primal's old "optimal" body—and finally had his own spark torn out by a Cycle Drone. When Legends Fall After a city-spanning battle, Optimus sacrificed himself to destroy Megatron and reformat Cybertron into a technorganic paradise. Cheetor and the other Maximals were restored to their bodies; as the captive sparks were reborn, Cheetor had a final vision from the Oracle, who told him that Optimus would always be with them. I'm not lookin' forward to the day they chronicle my early bonehead adventures onto a datacon for all the world to see. Transmetal Cheetor's torso panel hinges went through several iterations during development. The resin hardcopy prototype started off with the panels' hinges being on the inside of the hinges connected to the torso. The second iteration in the test shot phase swapped this orientation, having the outer hinges be on the panel and the inner hinge be connected to the torso. By the final point of development, the hinges were kept the same as the second iteration, but were reinforced at the base to prevent breakages. [11] Coincidentally, some test shot copies of the toy were molded in colors similar to that of the Armada Cheetor retool which was released six years later. The Universe War ground on for an unspecified length of time until one raid on the Chaos Bringer, which included Primal, Cheetor, and several others, ended with Unicron suddenly dissolving beneath them thanks to the effects of the cross-dimensional Unicron Singularity. Cheetor, Longhorn, and Rhinox were carried away by Optimus Primal through a portal to safety. Revelations Part 2 The arrival of "standard-formers" from Cybertron was a major development on Eukaris, and the Four Tribes met with both outsiders and the Fateweaver to understand the ramifications. Cheetor and the tribes met with Chancellor Starscream of Cybertron and Windblade of Caminus when they exited from the spacebridge. Initially reluctant to form relations with Cybertron, whose people persecuted the children of Onyx Prime, Cheetor opened to the idea when he learned that other colony worlds were involved as well. Cheetor was among Blaster's minions when they teamed up with negative polarity Ravage. Recordicons #12 This mold was also used to make Shadow Panther/ Tripredacus Agent and Tigatron. It was slated to be used for Universe Nightprowler, but that toy set was canceled.
