About this deal

The Bio-Earth Biodegradable Plastic Free Tree Shelter Guard and sapling protectors are made from a water-resistant board, which has been coated to give it additional protection to offer a longer lasting biodegradable tree tube guard and all made from natural biodegradable safe materials. They are designed to eventually disintegrate safely into the ground. They are suitable for composting or recycling. The church that our preschool resides in had done a remodel of the children’s wing and repainted all the walls. I had an idea to create some Christmas trees that could somehow fold away flat for people with limited space, and I love how they turned out! They also ended up to solve a few other holiday problems. These cardboard Christmas trees: Earthboard Biodegradable Plastic Free Tree Shelter Guard and Sapling protectors are an environmentally-friendly alternative to the traditional plastic products used to protect young trees and hedges. Draw (freehand, you can do this!) the tree and then cut it out. I’m sure some sort of Xacto knife (or similar) was used.

They are made from a special water-proof cardboard which is 100% Biodegradable,100% recyclable, and 100% compostable. While I was visiting my classroom I noticed a row of cardboard and paper trees attached to the walls in the church’s hallway, leftover from Vacation Bible School. I knew one of them would be perfect for our classroom! My director got the approval for each classroom to have one, if the teachers wanted them. It took me all of one day to get that tree on our wall. Fold each tree in half. Create two slits in each tree on the fold, one high and one low on the tree. The slits should be less than half the depth of your cardboard circles (ours are 1.5″). Note :: You’ll want to protect your work surface with a cutting mat or another piece of cardboard so you don’t cut your table or floor or whatever. What’s great about this craft is that it can be as simple or as elaborate as you want. So if you’re short on time (or money), this is the perfect solution. But if you’ve got some extra time and energy, go ahead and add some extra bells and whistles! The Scrapbook Paper Tree
