About this deal

I have just faced a similar issue and wracking my head for a proper solution , but as an interim I have set up the TV to feed audio using optical output to our Oticon TV adapter, and then fed the Sonos Beam using the Optical Out from the Oticon TV adapter to the beam using the HDMI optical adapter . After thorough testing, they picked 5 HDMI audio extractors that deliver high-quality audio and great performance. I want to connect 2 sound systems to play the same signal from my music streamer and I can't connect the systems between them.

This HDMI audio extractor allowed us to play games at 4K and 60 Hz with low latency and extract audio from different sound systems. Therefore, if you are an audiophile who prefers listening to music from HDMI-only devices such as Apple TV, Roku, and other streaming devices, you need the best audiophile headphones and a good HDMI audio extractor. In the past, I've always connected my PS4 Pro straight to the TV via HDMI, and relied on optical to the amp for audio. optical splitter box as my amp is quite old and doesn't support HDR passthrough I think (Pioneer VSX-924).I have a bit of a similar edge case in that my son is deaf and has cochlear implants we have a TV streamer that can connect via optical / audio jack directly to his implants and at the moment we are using the optical splitter solution as described above, but that means we do lose out on Atmos when watching TV content. Also, ensure you check features such as audio format supported, video formats supported, audio outputs, video outputs, surround-sound outputs and so on. Edit 2 - if I used the Blustream splitter (SP12AB-V2) would the tv still get a 4k60 signal from the PS5 if the amp is only capable of receiving 4k30, or would that make the PS5 see that as the max acceptable resolution? I think at best, turning off CEC, which on many sets reactivates the optical circuitry, can provide a secondary non-hdmi output, to which you might hook up secondary audio equipment.

In this guide, we’ll review the top 5 HDMI audio extractors in detail, and list their pros and cons. This extractor supports optical and L/R stereo audio, which provides you with the independence to connect it with your amplifier without connecting it to the TV.

Lindy HDMI Splitters provide a seamless way to connect multiple HDMI displays to a set top box, DVD player or computer.

I have the option of using Dolby Pro Logic via the TV mode on my Sony HT-1100 amp I suppose but it isn't the same as proper 5. I haven't tried it and it will only do 4k60 but seems to get around the issue without replacing your amp or spending too much. Hopefully, it’ll work perfectly with the PS5 too (yet to test the HDMI audio extractor thoroughly with PS5, initial experience was good though). I have a great BT transmitter but the TV doesn’t output an optical signal when the eARC is plugged in.I've got no interest to declare, but I just bought a 'sharc' from Thenaudio so I could hook up my PS5, LG C9, and pre-eARC receiver.
