The Minor Arcana carry the number and title across the bottom, black text on a white background with the first letter of each word in red. I did wonder why this deck was confusingly given the same name as Kat Black’s popular Golden Tarot from US Games.

It looks like a slick and polished set; the gold matte box matches the book with matches the backs of the cards. The cards themselves are lovely, and the artwork really makes sense for a Tarot deck, even if the source images are the sorts of things that I wouldn’t spend much time with on a visit to an art museum. The cards are standard sized with an old-fashioned brown textured pattern for the reversible card back. The cards are generally worked in neutral tones–a lot of beige and brown–but occasional spots of red, blue, and gold really light up the deck as a whole.

Golden Tarot is a compilation of collages from artwork of the late Middle Ages and early Renaissance. The material that is presented here has been taken from Medieval and Renaissance art - it is gentle, lovely - full of grace and such a marvelous deck to offer to clients as an option for their reading (and, of course, a stunning deck to use for personal reading and meditation!
