Disheartened that the night truly meant so little to Ronan, their relationship in present day is full of tension. I loved how they comunicated with songs, how Ronan profesed his love while singing their song😭😭 my heart couldn't take it. We see his trauma manifest itself a few times throughout the book, such as when he tells Nova to be careful driving in the rain.

Ooh, I think I subbed to that podcast but still haven’t listened to an episode of it yet 😂 This was definitely a pleasant surprise and I can’t wait for the next book in this series. Will spoiler tag all of the below since I'll go into a bit of the details that made this a rare DNF for me. Some of my friends liked this too, so I’m sorry if I’m insulting your personal preferences… but this book just didn’t work for me.When he awakens from the night he met Princess Leia, Nova, he realizes he said something awful to her and vows to himself to change! Though Ronan has been drinking and is still suffering grief from the loss of his fiancé and his football career and the night doesn’t go as Nova had hoped. She completely stole the show for me with Dear Ava and now she is back with another emotional love story that I know many romance readers will love. Nova and Ronan fake date in their small town to get some people off their back, and they were simply adorable together. I just want to say I screamed noooooo out loud over something that went down, so I got why Nova bailed afterwards….

I will admit that if you go into the book purely for some great love story, you’re maybe gonna be disappointed. With the small town scared that they could lose their coach, they went to unimaginable lengths to keep him.Football is the most exciting thing in Blue Belle, and everyone is trying to play matchmaker with the newest bachelor. Throw in some people from Nova’s past that she didn’t anticipate running into again, and the characters were in for a wild ride. But after losing his career and his fiancée in a car accident, he falls into a pit of grief and bad choices. I adore all the characters too which is why I am so excited that Madden-Mills wrote more books in this world.

Nova ends up being a part-time teacher and part-time PA for Ronan and that’s when he proposes that they fake a relationship to help deal with other people. With a tremendous appeal to fans of Contemporary Romance Comedies…impressively performed…by the narrative team of Sebastian York and Savannah Peachwood.
