When the bedside crib is installed, no gaps must be present between the adult mattress and the crib. The Next2Me Air is all about breathability, with all 4 sides of the crib designed with wide netted material to ensure optimal ventilation to keep baby comfortable all night long. Since I got this model new safety standards have been introduced, including a requirement for bedside cots to have a 120mm-high barrier around the all sides of the crib to ensure your baby can’t roll off their own mattress onto yours. The height of the cot can be adjusted to five levels, and the adjustable legs let you easily adapt the distance between the co-sleeper cot and your bed.

There are many bedside cribs and bedside sleepers to chose from including the Snuzpod and the Next2me or even the halo bassinest or cozee air bedside crib, but none are as stunning and sturdy as the Shnuggle Air Baby Bedside Crib.Being such a key element to any baby bed we took special care when it came to developing the mattress on the Hush. It’s not immediately obvious from the instructions which way round they should go as the pictures are so small. There are two wheels with brakes and anti-slip feet – so in theory you could wheel it from room to room, but we didn’t try that. These versatile cribs allow you to always keep baby close, be it when co-sleeping, or you can easily wheel the crib around your home to use as a standalone crib for naptimes and back again. Please note that the sizes below refer to the baby's body measurement, rather than the measurement of the garments. With a one-handed opening, all you have to do is give the top panel a squeeze to release the side and it slides down effortlessly, allowing you to access baby quickly and easily during the night. The effort needed to do this is however justified, as this step pulls the crib tight to the bed where it feels very steady and secure – there is absolutely no budging it. I had my baby lying with his feet at the end closest to me so that I could peek around the fabric sections and see his face rather than his feet and found this also worked well for picking him up while I was in bed.Personally, I found the printed instructions a bit vague, and relied instead on various videos I found online. It can be used as a co-sleeping cot, a traditional standalone cot and a floor bed for toddlers and children up to 4 years old. You can use the crib as a standard bassinet during the day or separate it from the stand and fold flat for easy storage and transport. It started very well as I laid out all the pieces, and it was obvious from the images which bits I needed to begin with, but putting it together proved a bit more challenging.
