About this deal

Does anyone know if the book is available as a real chess e-book somewhere (something like Forward Chess where a board is built into the book)? I'm not sure why I read this book, but I bought it a few years ago for some reason (probably mentioned by some Youtuber) and so I finally finished reading it. I get they want to save space/ink but sadly it seems visual mediums are more suitable for explaining chess moves. None of us were particularly good, playing without tactics or logic, but rather just throwing pieces here and there, hoping for the best. Plenty of diagrams, clear text (for a chess manual), and it's useful for players up to medium-strong club strength, and all the way down to pure beginners (though some of it may be over their heads at first.

the reason for this is that logical chess goes through 33 games played by previous grand-masters and explaining EVERY move in detail ! I already had an intuition about pushing the f-pawn (exposes the king to checks along that diagonal) and the g-pawn (lots of weaknesses on the light squares), but pushing the h-pawn felt a lot safer to me. Chernev's writing style is something I enjoy also and overall I would recommend this book to anyone who still commonly uses and reads Descriptive(English) Notation. I am not really sure what “the” correct way is, but what I do is to look up the game in my database on go through the game two or maybe three times pretty fast. PS The only thing I hate is the cover, which looks like a 1970's book which has sat on the shelf for so long that it has faded. There is also a sufficient number of diagrams so that you won't get too lost as the game progresses. So poignant game 22, a stonewall defense of playing pawns on first 4 of 5 moves to move the army, leads to a bloodbath of pieces in the center, all protecting pawns that never come into play, then another bloodbath involving the final remaining pieces, after which the side with the passed pawn on the open file simply marches forward to win, leaving a battlefield of only pawns.

Worse, Black's 17 … Bxf2, that Chernev says initiates an unstoppable attack, and that in fact prompted White to resign, overlooks a surprising resource of White's, 18 Bxf7, that would have enabled White to completely equalize what had been a Black-advantage -6. It is your responsibility to make sure that your operating equipment is compatible with the relevant software or video DVD before purchasing and that software purchased is functionally adequate for your needs.therefore , one who wants to improve as fast as possible should read this book and really absorb all that it tells you [ and obviously one should play others as much as he can to put your studying to practice ] therefore play a lot! I used Chernev's book "Logical Chess" 45 years ago when I was a kid trying to improve my game, and now as I am trying to re-learn the game, an e-book copy of "Logical Chess" is as clear and helpful as it was when I was young. Part two shows 1d4 openings and the resulting disasters when black fails to take control of the c5 square.
