About this deal

So I think that Glory of the Giants has to rise or fall on its value to the DM, and on that front I think it succeeds more than I was anticipating. Glory of the Giants amply succeeds at being a GM-focused book that fleshes out the history and social structure of the giants, providing tools to help the DM make better giant-focused adventures and also more reasons for the DM to want to create more giant-focused adventures. Path of the Giant barbarians can also fool around out of combat, with the third-level ability to learn the druidcraft or thaumaturgy cantrip opening up creative possibilities that other DnD barbarians might not be able to access. Players will find a wealth of giant-themed character options: a subclass for barbarians, two backgrounds related to giants and their runic magic, and feat options that evoke the strength and primal magic of the giants. Rune Magic unlocks the knowledge of a number of runes equal to half of the character's proficiency bonus, which can be inscribed onto objects once per long rest to allow for spellcasting.

No matter what strikes the fancy of players or dungeon masters among the subclass, background, and feat options in Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants, the new sourcebook offers plenty of new ways to bring variety to the game table.

There’s also a lot of effort to expand on the giant’s larger cultural structure, pushing them towards something a bit more than being big plus one obsession per giant type. The most interesting twist on the formula comes in the ability to invoke an inscribed rune without using a spell slot or material components with the side effect of locking out use of the spell until the next long rest. Here Bigby and the demigod Diancastra, child of the giants’ All-Father, Annam, unveil the secrets of Annam’s mighty descendants. Bigby, who is originally from the world of Greyhawk, is best known for his eponymous ‘hand’ spells, which in 5E are condensed into a single Bigby’s Hand spell with several modes (forceful hand, grasping hand, interposing hand, clenched fist). A character with the Giant Foundling background grew up among giants and leeched some power from their environment, while a Rune Carver learned Rune Magic through diligent work.

Both of these options provide interesting magical potential and roleplaying opportunities alike, as characters with deep connections to giants are unlikely to encounter many people who share their experiences in most campaign settings.Chapter 3: Giant Adventures: This section will offer a variety of options and advice for DMs when it comes to running giant-themed encounters, adventures and DnD 5e campaigns. Some ancient cloud giants do retain ownership of floating castles which exist high above the clouds. Stone Giants: Reclusive being who prefer to hide in the wilderness and are surprisingly gentle unless provoked. All updates are being done with care to make sure anything from fifth edition will continue to be fully playable.

In Glory of the Giants we learn that he has been killed and reincarnated as a gnome (because when he died they only had a druid handy, not a cleric), and has developed a bit of a fascination with giants that tends to make his comments a bit fawning. Here Bigby and the demigod Diancastra, child of the giants' All-Father, Annam, unveil the secrets of Annam's mighty descendants. This could be used to safely move allies or reposition enemies, with the possibility to deal damage by tossing a foe onto a space that doesn't support them. It’s possible that other products (such as DM screens and tie-in adventures) will also be coming out after launch, although nothing has officially been announced by Wizards of the Coast. The selection of possibilities connects to various types of giant, with cloud, fire, frost, hill, stone, and storm strikes available.Adds giant-themed player character options where adventurers can evoke the glory of giants with new subclasses, backgrounds and feats.
