Glad it came with ear buds cause I needed a pair and these work great for sound and fit comfortably in my ears. Talking of the cables, They are both great quality and very long, giving you loads of options as to where you position your boom arm. This microphone feels nice, it’s got weight, but not too heavy looks good, a damn sight better than my rubberised plastic sf-666 did and fits the shock mount beautifully, again something my sf-666 didn’t leading to pops when I kicked the desk. With my setup there is a noticeable bit of noise, which I guess would be a deal breaker however every piece of audio recording worth it’s salt has noise suppression capabilities, which on both the Realtek software and in OBS studio works very well to remove all traces of the noise.
so that’s everything you need to get the microphone attached to your PC and in an optimal position in front of your mouth to get recording. The extras are great, the pop filter fits onto the boom arm, however I’ll probably end up getting a wrap around pop filter at a later date as it takes up a lot of space particularly when the mic is not being used and pushed under my monitor.I have the microphone, a shock mount, a tonor foam audio shield, a pop filter, a neewer nw 100 power with xlr to xlr input to the microphone, and xlr to 3. Arrived in good condition except that the box had been opened previously, and had a large sticker on it which couldn't be removed without causing damage. Previously with the sf-666 I had to secure my boom arm next to the PC so the cable could run up the arm, the cable on the NW-700 will allow me to take the cables to the opposite side of the desk before running up the boom arm making it much more convenient when not in use. There is also a space for a fet that is unpopulated and I suspect these two changes are because of a change to the microphone capsule specification. Well, with external audio interface, it could connect to my phone, but still not worked on the computer.vocal sound is very good also a general all round accoustic instrument capability of reliable sound reproduction this is surprising for a mic that is so cheap, i cannot comment on its robustness because its early days yet but i can say that with a proper case and also a mic stand adaptor i see no reason why it should not be gig and mobile recording suitable. Obviously the most important part, and I think I’ve told you before, I’m not an audiophile so take that onboard. i plugged it in and start using it and i cant hear my voice, i have to move the cable around to hear my voice but even then everything sounds like a static tv. I had purchased an NW-700 a couple of months ago, and along with it came an NW-100 phantom power supply, an XLR to XLR cable, an XLR to 3. like that really sucks cause i need it for choir and now i need to spend more money for a new cable.The boom arm is great allowing you to position the mic at an optimal position, however could really do with some cable securing system, I’ve used velcro cable ties on mine to run the cables down the arm. With its directional pickup and background canceling stuff, is it possible that the mic is too far away from you and treating you like you are background noise?
