In The Diamond Brothers in… The Blurred Man (2002), the Diamond Brothers investigate the sudden and mysterious death of a charitable philanthropist who suffers chronic allergies that prevent him from meeting almost anyone in person. With no leads, no one to go to, and being framed for murder, the brothers encounter Tim's former boss, Police Chief Snape and his aggressive partner Boyle, a lounge singer named Lauren Bacardi, an underworld crime boss known only as 'The Fat Man', and two German hitmen named Gott and Himmel.This short story was adapted and enlarged from a radio play of the same name that Horowitz wrote several years prior. When the brothers inquire into how Johnny Naples fits into all of this, Snape tells them that he was a quack doctor living in La Paz, with a run-down practice in the city's backstreets. With this knowledge, Naples quit his job in Bolivia soon after the Falcon's death, and caught a flight to England. The plot sees the Diamond Brothers Detective agency on a thrilling case to discover just what is so important about those titular Maltesers.

In The Diamond Brothers in… The French Confection (2002), the Diamond Brothers win a trip to Paris thanks to a French strawberry yoghurt, but accidentally get caught up in a drug smuggling ring and end up being forced to team up with the Sûreté to take them down. He has written the television series Foyle's Wa r, which aired in the United States, as well as the libretto of a Broadway musical adapted from Dr. These books are aimed at a younger readership than Horowitz's young adult novels, such as the Alex Rider series and The Power of Five series. Gott tries to shoot the Simples, but then is shot by the Falcon's widow, Beatrice, whom, it turns out, was the Simples' housekeeper all along. However, unlike the film adaptation, the series has never been released on any home media, and it was also never rebroadcast.The promotional blurbs of the early 2004 editions of the Alex Rider novel Scorpia, and of an early edition of Three of Diamonds claimed that Horowitz was planning an Australian-based adventure for the Diamond Brothers, entitled The Radius of the Lost Shark (a play-on-words on the film title Raiders of the Lost Ark). Due to the book being told entirely from Nick's perspective, and perhaps the fact that the criminals believe the Diamonds to be softer targets than, say, other master criminals, we don't get to see a lot of the crooks clashing with each other, with the notable exceptions of the climax, and the fact that Gott and Himmel take out The Fat Man's chauffeur when they run into him in the Diamonds' flat. I really liked this plot as it had a lot of detail and description and it was an action and adventure story, which is my favourite genre. However, there seemed to be dissent even among those ranks, as Beatrice takes out Gott (Himmel having just been killed by The Fat Man) in the climax.
