About this deal

Ever since its formation in the 1970s, MIDAS has had a long history of innovation and leadership in the world of audio mixing consoles. I have two other interfaces that work fine (Audiobox USB and a Focusrite Scarlett 18i), so I know the problem is in the UMC1820. This Warranty is void if the Product has been damaged as a result of accident, abuse, misapplication, or modification not authorized by Company. With its versatile features and high connectivity, including expandability via digital connections, the U-Phoria UMC1820 offers all of the prerequisites to master even the most complex recording situations in the home or project studio. So this is not conclusive, but I'm pretty confident with the right config the ADAT I/O will work fine and is no reflection on this unit.

With its S/PDIF in and out ports and MIDI in and out ports, the device can communicate with other digital audio equipment seamlessly. Thanks in advance for any ideas because the Behringer tech support through M-Tribe hasn't been helpful at all. Great care has been taken to ensure accuracy in the preparation of this article but neither Sound On Sound Limited nor the publishers can be held responsible for its contents. I just got a new laptop and I'm having problems setting up Reaper to use DirectSound to capture audio from my computer. I'm disappointed that the UMC1820 doesn't have inserts on 1 and 2 lke the firepod, but I'm learning to live with it.With Windows 10 and Reaper 5 you could record the audio from a YouTube video (for instance) by simply playing it with Direct Sound rather than AISO, through a Yamaha MG16XU mixer rather than a Behringer Uphoria UMC1820 I/O. I hoped that Behringer will come with a software where i maybe could assign the outputs to the speakers (left, right, center, left back, right back, sub). In summary I think this unit will make the heart of a fairly serious home or project studio, especially if you also combine it with an ADA8000 or perhaps the ART Tube opto 8 for extra inputs/flavour.

Please give us the reason for your assessment in the following text box and – if possible – your e-mail address for further questions. In addition, eight further line outputs open up extensive possibilities for playing cue mixes or using hardware effects. The audio interface works with MIDI devices and is compatible with all popular recording software, allowing users to choose their favourite programming product. The only questionable "quirk" of my unit is input 7 making a humming noise even with its gain knob turned all the way down, but the moment I plug anything into it, the noise disappears, so I just make sure to keep it in use. Only audible at higher volumes , but not high enough to avoid compression bringing it loud enough to make it unusable.Based on what I know now, it looks like the best solution is to record the audio I want in another program, (Audacity or my trusty old Adobe Soundbooth), and then import it into Reaper. The 18-in/20-out USB audio interface in rack format can be used with Windows and macOS and operates at sample rates up to 24 bit/96kHz. This has always worked with the Yamaha syncing to the DAW via the UMC's MIDI out providing a time code for the Yamaha. ADAT input allows you to connect a Behringer ADA8200 (sold separately), expanding to a total of 16 Midas-designed mic preamplifiers, so you can mic the entire band! Designed for professional use, the Behringer U-PHORIA UMC1820 is a versatile system that allows users to create and edit high-quality audio recordings easily. But the U-Phoria UMC1820 offers a wide range of connection options not only on the analogue side, but also on the digital side with coaxial S/PDIF (two channels) and optical ADAT (up to eight channels) connectivity. I like the Focusrite power in the unit but then swapping out a failed power supply is really easy with a wall wart p.I run a home studio setup and mainly use it for song writing and mixing multiple instruments to get high quality demo's mainly. PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH. Digital Displays, Encoders, Switches and Sensors, VU Meters, Variable Resistors and Potentiometers, Loudspeaker Drivers, Diaphragm Assemblies and Grilles, Faders (including Crossfaders and Motorized Faders), Track Balls and Glide Pads, and Road and Flight Cases. This is not really a reply but can see you are familiar with the Behringer 8200 and thought you may have some input.

i’ve been producing for a long time, but i’ve never had to expand an audio interface with more inputs. just plug in an optical cable from the digi002 to the presonus ADAT input - that’s what I do for and extra 8 ins with my presonus 1810. When it comes to output latency, 256-384 buffer size seems like the sweet spot if you are also running some software instruments and effects. In the middle position one can hear the direct monitor and the sound with latency superpositioned and feel the latency.
