About this deal

Also, the whole Na’laa nickname was cute, but at the same time, I felt that it was just too similar to the Liessa title in ASITE. When the Baron takes an interest in the prince, and the prince takes an interest in Calista, she becomes the latter’s temporary companion. The detailed and vividly depicted dystopian meets high fantasy world building, along with the intricately crafted magic system, is executed flawlessly. I’m assuming you’re not looking for my opinion,” I said, grinding the pestle into the mound of chamomile. Archwood flourished partly because of the ones in Primvera, the Hyhborn Court that sat just beyond the woods outside of the manor, and my Hyhborn had punished the Mister.

poor orphan girl who is different and turns out to be special at the very end, semi evil guy justifying coercion and power imbalance by the lack of a heart, learning compassion for the first time. BUT I like where this is going and I think this may have been a good intro, which will allow the second book to hit the ground running. It feels more like a very long prequel for the real action and politics that will (hopefully) be in the next book. I just wish she took a bit more time writing her books instead of releasing like two three books a year. The good thing about it was that it was complex but not too complex like there was this perfect amount of complexity that the author achieved. In a turn of events and to the surprise of absolutely no one, especially those of you who have been around since the start, I am absolutely head over heels in love with this brand-new dark dystopian high fantasy novel by JLA; Fall of Ruin and Wrath. But will it just be another stabby, freckled snowflake *ahem* I mean, Queen, who … who talks … like this … all.

I don’t even have the energy to go into the specifics of this book, because that would involve going through the book again, and good lord, I have already punished myself enough. Because of this, mortal lives are inconsequential to immortals, particularly if they feel it’s for the greater good. To see her become the badass she's meant to be, is going to be sweet🤌 I liked she was ready to be vulnerable with Thorne and her fiesty nature suited her quite well. Lis has no idea that Thorne is actually a prince – and one of the most powerful beings in the kingdom. I’m not a super prudish reader, but when the stories stop telling a story, I start to get annoyed and underwhelmed. It’s a sensual, dangerous romp involving mortal and immortal dynamics, but behind closed doors and on the field of rebellion. Even though it ends right in the middle of a tension-filled scene, I wasn’t cussing at my e-reader, craving the sequel yesterday. The characters were drawn to each other, but I couldn’t tell if deeper feelings developed between them.

Lis feels an unexplainable attraction to him, but she knows that any association with a Hyborn will only lead to trouble for her, especially if he discovers her abilities. Separated by vast wilderness teeming with monsters and unimaginable dangers, each city is now ruled by a guardian―royalty who feed on mortal pleasure. And while I've read almost every single book by JLA, over the last decade, Lis was unlike any other heroine that we have met from Armentrout. It was the first year I was eligible to attend, as one must be twenty-two years of age or married, which made little sense to me, but it was the Hyhborn and King Euros who made the rules, not me.It’s too soon for that to be revealed in book one, but again, the promise of Lis being a queen is smacking you in the face so not to worry.
