The rear of the pads look identical, but I noticed the velour material goes farther back on the 880 pad before the seam.

I was inspired by music since childhood, and as the time passed, the passion of music grew in me, and that subsequently led me to join Head-Fi. In each of the seven reference songs I will specify what parts of the song I am listening to, to evaluate the 3 parts of the spectrum. Balanced Frequency- The mood of the track set by the balance of frequency, any coloration takes away from the collective beauty of the track as a whole.As for soundstage, there are hints of 3D in it, but it's too narrow and shallow to precisely position instruments. The crisp and clean detail adds an impressively bold feeling to Electronic music for me and I rarely felt the need for more bass either. Most people will know that neutral headphones are great for creating music, expect these headphones to suits this kind of music well, so let me use this example to say how versatile these headphones are. Therefore, for portable devices, the more sensitive 32Ω version will play louder, and most portable equipment is designed to work well with low-impedance headphones. It's a more "Sennheiserized" sound signature than the DT770/990, which I found to be more aggressive (V-shaped).

The higher impedance versions are suggested not because they perform any differently than the lower impedance versions, they are suggested because it's more likely that your other equipment will perform better with higher-impedance loads. The DT 880 is made of almost all metal, and real metal, no pot metal like much of the Sennheiser HD800. The Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO and the Beyerdynamic DT 880 PRO are both very good headphones for critical listening, but they have different sound profiles. The over-ear headphones are very light for their size and ensure a pleasant fit thanks to their carefully selected materials. Classic Beyerdynamic Build quality, although these are a tad more fragile than my pro series headphones, the adjustment device is located outside of the head band, as opposed to the pro series which feature the extension mechanism within the head band.

They sound fantastic with all the genres I listen to and I can say that they are one of my favourite cans of all time. Despite it sounding more powerful on my more bass heavy headphones, there is a better sense of space, clarity and detail here.
