But if you want to, you can still use a wired connection on this speaker cause it still has an audio jack. So this is the JBL Boombox 3, unlike the Boombox 2 which was just a very marginal upgrade from the original boombox… the boombox 3 looks very different on the outside and its fairly different on the side as well. When my smartphone or tablet runs out of battery i simply plug a usb cable to the speaker to charge it when nearby plug ports are unavailable. As with all speakers, the Boombox 2 has a point where it starts to get distorted, and we found that the distortion starts to set in around 80-90%. JBL has moved the Bluetooth button to a different location, with the PartyBoost button in its place.

JBL, which is named after James Bullough Lansing, who set up the brand, are innovators high standard audio equipment. It's also compatible with the JBL PartyBox app you can use to access extra sound effects and light show effects of the speaker. The sound is great, there is no noise, and the bass sounds better than with our subwoofer in some cases.

JBL is after that kind of social outing with the JBL Boombox 2, a portable Bluetooth speaker whose primary mission is to get loud.The JBL has a better-balanced sound profile out of the box and can produce a slightly more extended low-bass. That doesn’t make the speaker bad — far from it — but it does mean that this is better for newcomers to the Boombox, not existing users.
