I used to use mascara that wasn't Japanese, however, ever since I started using a Japanese mascara, there were no other mascaras that I would rather ever use. I love Japanese mascara because there are so many products that are made specifically for a humid climate, which means that many mascaras are water and sweat proof. Of many of the Japanese mascaras, I decided to try out the Heroine Make Kiss Me Long Mascara, which is a product specifically for lengthening your eyelashes. Removing the product was probably one of the only things that I didn’t really like about the product. I often use micellar water to take off my makeup, mainly because it removes most of the makeup and doesn’t create a mess compared to oil-based makeup removers. Kiss Me is a brand owned and created by Isehan, a company that has been manufacturing makeup and beauty products for over 200 years. As a result of Isehan’s long know-how and experience, they have grown Kiss Me into a brand that not only Japan adores, but also worldwide. Although there wasn't much product on the spoolie, I gave it “a go” and applied it on my lashes after I had curled them. It was very easy for me to apply the product because the spoolie was already curved, and I can tell you that this product does not clump at all. Regardless of only having a small amount of product on the spoolie, it does the job of coating my eyelashes evenly and lengthening my lashes with the special fiber. Only comes off with oil-based makeup remover (does not work with micellar water/non-oil makeup remover)I have very short, very sparse eyelashes (thankfully, I’m not a character in an old-timey storybook, so I’ve never had to bat my eyelashes like a damsel in distress). When I was younger, I tried out a few kinds of mascara, but I never found one that didn’t smudge after just a few hours…even when the label claimed that it was supposedly waterproof and smudge-proof! Maybe I have a very oily eye area or something. Anyway, I eventually gave up on my search for the perfect mascara, because I didn’t want to risk looking raccoon-eyed ever again. But my curiosity was recently reawakened when I was in Japan. I kept seeing one particular mascara everywhere. It probably caught my eye because it was so cute (and it had a catchy name, too): Isehan’s Kiss Me Heroine mascara.

I have been loving The Ordinary Rose Hip Seed Oil as part of my recent minimalist skincare routine, and I can see why it might be a good addition to this mascara. My dad the chemist’s advice for choosing your next mascara ISEHAN’s long-lasting and waterproof formulas are gentle and non-irritating. They’re easily removable too, especially if you use the Speedy Mascara Remover. This mascara is magnificent. 10 hours later, my eyelashes still look as if I just applied the mascara. I cannot believe how it has not smudged at all, as well as how much it has kept its shape and curl! In addition to that, I always had trouble with mascara smudging on my lower lashes. However, this product didn't budge at all! Removing the Product My dad points out that this formula is absolutely anhydrous (meaning that it doesn’t contain water), and contains water-insoluble ingredients. All of these factors point to the idea that this mascara is indeed 100% waterproof. That’s a good sign! This mascara is one of the best mascara that I’ve ever tried before. It is definitely the best product for going out all day or for stage makeup (especially for active sports such as cheerleading or dance). Personally, because the product does not come off using micellar water, which is one of the easiest ways for me to take off makeup after a long day, I don’t think I will use this on an everyday basis. But I would definitely wear this product on a special occasion or maybe even on a day at the beach!
