About this deal

The book details her very early life, from babyhood to the summer she was 11, when she is about to start at secondary school. I think if you're a teen then you would enjoy this however as an adult (and yes I need to admit that I am now an adult) it just isn't that much fun even if you are a massive fan. She is still an avid collector of both books and dolls and she also still enjoys reading and writing.

Her insightful and emotionally challenging books not only stretch reading ability, but give young readers a glimpse into many kinds of lives. However for me I was just left disappointed, the book is obviously meant for children (I mean why wouldn't it be, she is a children's author) but I just found that it didn't go into enough detail for it to be enjoyable. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Each chapter ends with a passage from one of the author's books, which has been directly influenced by her own childhood. Most of you liked the book, Jacky Daydream and rated it 5 stars well this book wasnt for me, it just wasnt my cup of tea. It was an okay book because you get to know loads of facts about Jacqueline Wilson (I’m a fan of hers), but it kind of starts to get a bit boring. I would really like to know about the adult years of this great author, but that is of course not what this book is about.

I find her life story so interesting and you can see her and many characters of her life in her own writing. As a teenager she started work for a magazine publishing company and then went on to work as a journalist on Jackie magazine (which she was told was named after her! Nick Sharratt has written and illustrated many books for children including Shark in the Park, You Choose and Pants. Read it to see how Jacky played with paper dolls like April in Dustbin Baby; how she sat entrance exams like Ruby in Double Act, and how – just like Tracy Beaker – she loved writing and making up stories! With her usual deceptive cleverness, Wilson has made Jacky Daydream very easy to read, yet it is a book with depth and complexity actually suitable for a wide range of readers .

In June 2002 Jacqueline was given an OBE for services to literacy in schools, and she was the Children’s Laureate from 2005-2007. I owned this book as a child and I hauled it because when I bought it I didn’t realise it was nonfiction but as an adult I decided to pick it up because I wanted to learn about the life of my favourite childhood author. I also was really intresed to see that some of the things in her books she has expirenced to for example her best friend’s mum has cancer just like Jayni’s mum in Lola Rose, also that she used to play with paper dolls when she was a child just like april in dustbin baby. I enjoyed learning about the life of Jacqueline Wilson and think that the incorporation of her novels and characters into her own story’s as amazing! From the very first story she wrote, Meet the Maggots, it was very clear that this little girl had a very vivid imagination.
