About this deal

Dark ‍Chocolate‌ and Red ⁣Wine: Indulge in the‌ divine ⁢union of ⁤velvety‌ smooth dark ⁢chocolate and⁣ a robust red wine. The deep, complex notes of the chocolate harmonize ‍flawlessly with the fruity undertones of the wine, creating ‌a decadent ⁣combination that ⁤will transport you to a ⁤world of ⁤pure gastronomic bliss. – Exceptional Value for Money: Benchmark⁣ Bourbon’s Affordable Elegance The master distillers carefully⁢ maintain specific temperature ranges ‌during fermentation to maximize the development of flavors while preserving the unique characteristics of the grains. Finish: White pepper and cinnamon spice build throughout the finish; some rye spices and a bit of sweet fruit and brown sugar continue; moderate overall spiciness; fairly long finish with a moderate burn; dry wood increases towards the end and lingers Benchmark Full Proof Bourbon isn’t the first full proof bourbon by Buffalo Trace. The brand also produces Weller Full Proof, which while bottled at 114 proof, is also bottled at the same proof that it enters the barrel at. Sazerac, who owns Buffalo Trace, also owns Barton 1792 Distillery, which produces 1792 Full Proof that follows the same premise. While full proof aren’t quite barrel proof bourbons, they certainly compete in the same category as other high proof and barrel proof bourbons available in the market. This includes Knob Creek Single Barrel, Booker’s, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof, and numerous other brands that fit this definition. Nose: Caramel candies straight from the wrapper, orange and cherry scents with vanilla custard. There’s some nice brown sugar sweet scents followed with a volley of tannins that I guess I wasn’t expecting: worn leather and seasoned oak.

But Buffalo Trace, not being content until they’re the best at everything, decided that they needed to corner the bottom shelf market even more by introducing new expressions of this lowly shelf turd by invigorating some age and proof into the mix. This review has been a long time coming because I’ve been procrastinating. I have thought favorably of the other bottles in the lineup as a whole because of how good they have been for the price. Will my thoughts remain the same for the Single Barrel? Let’s take a look. I sampled this neat in a glencairn. Compared with regular Benchmark: the flavors are similar but are more full and pronounced in the Small Batch. The dryness at the end also is more apparent. Many of the others in the line offer more complexity or more pronounced pleasant flavors. I would suggest that if this is the only one of the Benchmark line that have tried, and you loved it, then great! However, if you didn’t, you might find it worthwhile to try one of the others in the Benchmark Bourbon line. This experience was a precursor to my venture into the liquor shop business, where I had the privilege of curating an extensive collection of liquors, granting me access to thousands of unique bottles from across the globe. Proof.A nose of toasted oak and baking spice leads to a complex palate with notes of caramel and citrus undertones. 3) Benchmark Small BatchIt blends exceptionally well with Coke and is considered one of the top choices for mixed drinks, alongside Caribbean rums. The Benchmark Bourbon line has seen a transformation over the last few years. The brand now carries six different expressions, ranging in proof from 80 to 125. While most people will chase the higher proof versions, the standard Old No. 8 Brand Benchmark Bourbon shouldn’t be overlooked. This is especially true for those who just want a glass of bourbon but don’t want to be confronted with a proof monster. Nose: The nose is somewhat simple and straightforward. At 95 proof, there isn’t a lot of strong scents, but the ones I do find are very nice. Cherry syrup, vanilla and light brown sugar paint this bourbon as a bit on the sweeter side. Amazingly, no really youthful notes catch my attention. Strangely enough, I get a passing whiff of butterscotch; a scent I typically find in bottles of EH Taylor Barrel Proof. That’s exciting! Exploring the Agave Fields of Oaxaca: While my career commenced with a focus on Scotch and Bourbon, life’s adventures have led me to the picturesque agave fields of Oaxaca, Mexico.

It is tough to think of another distillery that sells better products – from top to bottom – than the Buffalo Trace brand. They are practically the gold standardof the industry. How do we know that? Because every Buffalo Trace product they put out seems to be instantly allocated. McAfee’s Benchmark Old No. 8 Bourbon is definitely my least favorite regular release from Buffalo Trace. My all-time least favorite BT release was the rice bourbon, but that was a special edition experiment and is among the worst whiskeys I’ve ever had. Thankfully the McAfee’s Benchmark Old No. 8 Bourbon is nothing like it and that’s something we can all be happy about. The distinctive smoothness and rich ⁢flavor⁣ of Benchmark Bourbon are ⁢attributed to the ‌use of a⁢ unique mash bill, ⁤consisting of ⁣a secret‍ combination⁤ of corn, rye, and ‍malted barley. Buffalo Trace rums and whiskeys are the very best of their kind worldwide. They are the world leaders in distilling. Benchmark Whiskey Review: Every batch⁤ of Benchmark Bourbon starts with filtered water sourced ‍from natural limestone ⁣springs, providing the ideal ‌mineral content ‌necessary for‌ the desired taste profile.

Benchmark Bourbon offers exceptional ⁤value for money with its affordable elegance. This distinguished brand brings ‌a ‍touch of sophistication ⁣to any occasion⁤ without breaking the bank. ⁢Here’s why ‌Benchmark Bourbon stands ⁣out as ⁤the go-to choice for those seeking high-quality bourbon at an unbeatable price. I don’t know how they manage to keep generating hits like this, but I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. If we were to call Buffalo Trace the “Mercedes Benz” of bourbon brands, you’d still have to admit the C-Class sedan is remarkably buttoned-down for an entry-level car. How often do we see a brand go from one “bottom shelf” bourbon to a whole new line of bourbons all at once? Not very often. But here they are, the McAfee Brothers Benchmark Bourbon Collection; 5 new bourbons all released at the same time. Beginning in late 2020, these bourbons became available, but only in Indiana. I’m not sure of the rationale behind that, but Buffalo Trace/ Sazerac generally knows what they are doing. Since then, their distribution has become much more widespread. However, at the time, this new set of bourbons intrigued me, so I drove to Indiana to get them! Benchmark Bourbon Was Named After The McAfee Brothers While the Stitzel-Weller Distillery closed its doors in 1972, Benchmark Bourbon⁤ continued to be ⁢crafted using the original recipe handed down‌ through generations.

Distillation takes place in traditional‍ copper pot ‌stills, where the⁤ liquid is⁢ expertly heated and refined to⁣ separate ⁢impurities and⁣ concentrate the‍ spirit’s intricate flavors. So, what exactly is McAfee Brothers Benchmark Small Batch Bourbon? Well, other than being one of the 5 Benchmark bourbons released in late 2020, we don’t really know. That’s the thing about bourbons designated as “Small Batch”. The one thing we do know is that Buffalo Trace blends barrels to achieve a specific flavor profile, however that would be the same for any of the Benchmark bourbons except for the Single Barrel. We are also told that “select barrels are chosen”, but again, that is not very specific.

What makes Benchmark Bourbon so special⁤ is its remarkable smoothness. ⁣Each sip seamlessly glides ⁤across ‍the palate, leaving a velvety texture that⁤ delights the senses. The carefully⁢ selected blend of corn, ‍barley, and rye creates a ⁤harmonious ‌marriage of flavors, resulting in a⁤ whiskey that‌ is incredibly enjoyable and incredibly smooth. Delve into a symphony of flavors and aromas that ⁤will mesmerize ⁣your taste buds‌ and transport⁢ you to a realm of pure indulgence. ‍Our‌ tasters have meticulously crafted this collection, selecting only ‍the most ‍exceptional blends that showcase⁣ the artistry and expertise of the⁤ Benchmark distillery. The youthful graininess I observed in No. 8 is still present, but doesn’t seem as bothersome. Caramel, cherry and cinnamon all play nicely with a little bit of seasoned oak spice. Simple, yet effective.
