About this deal

All of life is the present; I consider The Moon Lists to be a useful tool for gaining perspective and allowing you to see what’s in front of you with clearer eyes (along with many other practices; this just happens to be the one that works for me). Structured around the phases of the moon, this guided journal encourages weekly reflections through eighteen months worth of writing prompts and suggestions, with references to astrology, architecture, and art.

I realized the evolving sets of monthly prompts could be templates to be shared and exchanged with others. Originally a newsletter series, the Moon Lists brings together strangers from across the globe each sharing a response to a series of personal questions and prompts. Having been subscribed to the newsletters for a while, we were delighted when we heard that founder Leigh Patterson was taking the concept one step further and turning it into a physical workbook. The Moon Lists by Leigh Patterson is a workbook filled with questions, list-making ideas, and prompts for taking inventory of the self; One step in a direction of exploring parts of the mind + present tense that are new, unknown, and full of possibility. A perfect gift for yourself or a friend, this beautifully designed journal helps expand all aspects of your creative, personal, and emotional self.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. You can define “the last four weeks” however you want: maybe you complete your list on the first of each month or maybe you just jump in whenever you can. Loosely organized around the phases of the moon and punctuated with references to ’70s astrology, architecture, and art, Moon Lists encourages journalers to stop and reflect on the precious moments in their lives before time passes them by. These questions, prompts, and lists are an exercise in drawing the connection between memory and experience, a reminder that daily choices matter, habits are defining, and objects can hold layers of significance.

Leigh created a workbook to accompany our Fall 22 campaign, and answered her own prompts during a week of traveling through the stillness of New Mexico. Traditionally and across cultures the phases of the moon are regarded with different types of meaning, from new beginnings to intention setting to times of surrendering acceptance. The Moon Lists is a new way to journal: Filled with 18 months of exercises for breaking through creative, emotional, and transitional roadblocks, it introduces a routine practice of digging below the surface to explore parts of the mind that are new, unknown, and full of possibility. I find a lot of delight in esoteric, strange things and absurd humor—spending a day gossiping with my friends, going down internet wormholes of my making, reading fiction, shooting the shit on the porch with my husband. Now, Moon Lists are available to all in the form of a bound volume and a recently launched digital workbook.

From wind down looks to date night outfits, our co-founder styles the new washable silk robe three ways. Come and go as you please with this book- it's undated and always available to help guide you through your thoughts. If you can see a thing more as a whole you can better understand it or see that it’s beautiful, or necessary, or stupid. I realized recently that the narrative I was telling others in casual conversation needed adjusting. The size chart serves as a general size guide for helping you find your exact House of Woo and Uplifters Ranch size.

The routine practice of asking yourself these questions is an exercise in drawing the connection between memory and experience, a reminder that daily choices matter, habits are defining, and objects can hold layers of meaning. Every week in this journal provides a list-making prompt or memory-gathering touchstone for self-reflection. The Moon Lists is a new way to journal: Filled with 18 months of exercises for breaking through creative, emotional, and transitional roadblocks, it introduces a routine practice of digging below the surface to explore parts of the mind + present tense that are new, unknown, and full of possibility. Journaling can synthesize our idea of who we appear to be and who we actually are, serving as a hinge between our abstract ideas of personhood versus the tangible details of our days. She is the founder of LUCCA, a creative studio centered around developing thoughtfully unexpected ideas, campaigns, and strategies for brands of all sizes. At the end of each month is a set of questions constructed to look back on the last four weeks as a collective whole. Appropriately for summer, Cancer is a water sign ruled by the moon, both of which symbolize Cancer’s tendency towards changeable moods and their deep connection with the rhythms of the world. As the moon cycles through its phases, you will be asked to check with yourself, once a week, to reflect on your recent experiences. The Moon Lists are a side project for Leigh, a true passion project for which she exerts the same care and dedication that she puts into her clients’ work. I read about this book somewhere and thought the premise was great because the original idea that she took from a couple she encountered WAS great - what the author did with it however.

I also usually drink an obscene amount of sparkling water, cold brew, and matcha on repeat all day long. We took a moment with her to reflect on her journey and explain about her unique services, as well as discovering her. Choosing the way you observe, reflect on, and document what’s going on at present is a reminder: you are in control of your narrative. I have not worked in an office in over five years, so the biggest change brought on by the presence of COVID-19 is just the quantity of time spent at home. Observing inner life in this format can be useful for both addressing the specific (ie: starting a new project or addressing an emotional block) or more generally distilling the magnitude of ongoingness into tangible examples.

There are different ways to consider the present, from the objects and themes that are front-ofbrain to the sensory details that have filled in the spaces in between moments. It has helped me crystalize that the most obvious path is usually not the best one, and to hold that same standard of critical thinking across all projects and clients I collaborate with.
