About this deal

The default settings are LOUD! If you are buying this to practice at home, then BEFORE you start looping, set the Rhythym Level to about 25-30 and the Loop Level to about 50-70. Otherwise you'll wake up everone in the house, LOL.

The user manual provided by Boss is more of a cheat sheet than a real manual, but despite being quite short it covers all the important features of the device, which is a great testament to how easy is it to use the RC-5. But a more detailed reference manual is available, in case you want to know all the details about how the device works. Conclusion Red Panda has always been at the cutting edge of firmware in boutique pedals, and with the Tensor the company set themselves a pretty tough challenge. Inspired by the visionary looping modes from the classic, but misunderstood DigiTech XP-300 Space Station, they sought to make a looper that could take the best of the weirdest possibilities of that unit, and also function as a solid stage looper. In addition to parallel operation, the loops can be set to series: the one starting after the other for more streamlined transitions between sections in a song. N. Create or permit others to create Internet "links" to the Software or "frame" or "mirror" the Software on any other server, wireless or Internet-based device; While guitarists have been using the RC-30 to play full songs for many years, it seems the RC-10R is now a much better pedal for this purpose. BOSS has a large range of guitar effects that could draw from, so hopefully, we will see a good range of guitar-based effects. The press release for the RC-600 mentions a lot of vocal and DJ-style effects, but I would expect to see a decent number of guitar effects as well. BOSS RC-600 vs RC-300 Comparison

Next to the display of the RC-5, there is a large knob to change the settings and adjust the volume of the loop. Below that, there are four small, illuminated buttons that you can use to switch the integrated drum machine on or off and manage the memory.

RC-500

Buying an external footswitch to add to your RC-3 might give you enough control over your loop that you don’t need to consider the RC-30. Cons: If you’re primarily interested in a looper for live use, the compact size will present difficulties – unless you buy an external footswitch to make it more hands-free.

Btw, mine came without a manual, for some reason, (an oversight at the factory and not Sweetwater's fault). I had no trouble figuring out the basics and was looping within minutes. Like its predecessor, the RC-5 has a very compact and lightweight case and a mine design. It has exactly the same dimension as the RC-3 with 7.3 cm width and 12.9 cm depth, but with a height of 5.6 cm, the RC-5 is slightly smaller than the predecessor model. The weight has remained exactly the same at 450 grams and downright invites you to take the device along in your gig bag. While the RC-1 is a great pedal, it’s bare-bones compared to the RC-3. Being able to save up to 99 recordings on your pedal will be worth the extra price for most guitarists. There have been times in the past when I bought a lower model pedal to save some money, only to regret it later on. I’ve never bought a more expensive model and wished I had fewer features. Unlike the other loop station pedals in this guide, the RC-10R really does focus heavily on the rhythm aspects instead of the looping aspects. BOSS RC-10R vs RC-30

RC-5

The big advantage the RC-300 still has over the RC-500 is the sheer number of footswitches, controls, and external device support.

External footswitch support: the number of footswitches plays a big role in how flexible a looper can be. While there’s a lot you can do with one footswitch, adding an extra footswitch can make a big difference. If you’re a live performer looking for a solid range of features, the choice is tough between the RC-5 and other units such as the RC-10R, RC-30, or RC-500. BOSS RC-3 vs RC-5 Every loop station pedal has an input for an external footswitch. If you ever feel limited when controlling your loop station, try adding an external footswitch. BOSS RC-1 Loop Station The RC-300 is quite a jump up in price over the RC-30, so take a look at what you’ll be creating with your loops and whether it’s worth the extra money or not. While it may cost more to have two separate pedals instead of the RC-10R, you will end up with a far better rig suitable for performances.

What Makes Our Sales Engineers Great?

The TC Electronic Ditto X2 is still incredibly popular as an entry-level looper pedal, and the truism with groceries applies to TC's looper line: if you go one above the cheapest, you get the best value. The best looper pedal depends on what you want from it. There is a big difference between many of the Loop Stations covered in this guide.
