About this deal

I had four microphones and one guitar plugged into this board at our latest gig…… I also had powered speakers hooked up to the outputs……NO HUM NO HISS OUT OF SPEAKERS…. As a result, they have one of the lowest product failure rates in the industry, and confidently back it up with a generous 3-Year Warranty program. The added bonus is that these channel strips have pan/balance controls, along with gain controls on the preamps. Please note, the original boxing is scuffed and the seals are broken, otherwise the unit itself looks and operates as new. Premium ultra-low noise analog mixer with optional battery operation, 2 state-of-the-art XENYX Mic Preamps comparable to stand-alone boutique preamps, Neo-classic "British" 3-band EQs for warm and musical sound.

The one con is one needs a Phillips Screwdriver to open and close the Battery Compartment :-((( I'm gonna look for a Thumb Screw. These features are otherwise only found in larger studio and live mixing consoles and allow the Nuzter to quickly realize smaller, but professional setups where nothing is missing. The "Behringer 2001B" is a mains (via an adaptor) and battery powered mixer, but not to be confused with the Behringer 2001, this is quite a different mixer, and a bit daft of Behringer to produce two quite different mixers with a similar model number. They are for representative purposes only and often show other items to indicate how the product can be used, accessories that are available or other models in the same range. This makes me wonder if it's truly powering my various condensers or if I'm getting an underwhelming signal.

a Studer / Revox 6 channel jobbie that is supposed to have super sweet preamps and all types of direct outputs, slate ability, etc. The information obtained through cookies allows us to compile ad performance statistics and serve retargeting ads on The Trade Desks advertising network. With these Behringer mixers, they have twin sockets on the channels, which is a bit unusual (but handy). The little mixer is quite straight forward, the mixer uses thee 9volt PP3 batteries, two are used as the supply to the mixer in a 9-0-9 configuration, and the third for the 18v Phantom supply, but no step-up circuit, it uses one of the supply batteries to add to the phantom battery to make the 18v, this I consider a very poor arrangement as it means there is a higher drain on one of the main 9v supply batteries meaning the 9-0-9v will quickly become 9-0-8, then 9-0-7 volts etc etc, and if you have hungry mic’s like mine you will quickly have a lop-sided supply with it’s obvious problems, even when on its original mains PSU the phantom supply is barely 20 volts, but this is academic as I don’t have its original PSU.Don't let the small footprint fool you - the XENYX 1002B is built to the same exacting standards as Behringer's larger format XENYX mixers and is housed in an equally rugged steel chassis. If you plug 2 jacks into the left and right sockets, then the left one will be routed to the left output only and the right one will be routed to the right output only.

These discounts are usually communicated through newsletters, which are created and managed by us with the tool "Emarsys". I spent plenty of time observing the VU behavior compared to nicer PPM meters and felt comfortable enough to use them for mix reference. Also, the battery compartment cover is not captive, nor is the small Phillips screw that secures the cover. This is a terrific little mixer for small bands, especially for bands which need some amplification but which need to play away from electrical outlets. The four stereo channels accept left/right or mono 1/4" TRS/TR inputs, and three of them also accommodate microphones (with separate Trim controls). Two PP3s give a nominal 18V, The 9V for the rest of the mixer is pretty low and I suspect it has pretty poor headroom. The Xenyx 1002B is built to the same exacting standards as Behringer's larger format Xenyx mixers and is housed in an equally rugged steel chassis.

I’ve got it loaded with three 9V batteries (600 mAh Lithium-ion rechargeable) and can get 9 hours of use from a full charge - that should be plenty for most outdoor gigs, weddings, etc. There is a prefade monitor send which I intend on using as a boom op feed and a post fade FX send which would be great for director feed. The biggest question is if I need to add another power supply or if the built in power supply can handle the additional juice.

The red and white phonos on mixers tend to be there to let you play in a stereo source, so in virtually every case, left is left and right is right and there's no pan or balance adjustment - it's always stereo. The British consoles of the 1960s and ‘70s changed the sound of rock and roll—without them the British Invasion might not have happened. Wish I could easily color-code the sliders (it's in a room that gets used by a lot of different people) but that's hardly a deal-breaker. We originally had the way-back Time Machine version of this mixer, MXB1002, which was built like a tank, had more in/out options than any other mixer this size. I use it as a submixer for my backing tracks and it's doing a really great job of that, but I can see this being so versatile for many situations.
