About this deal

Sometimes I feel like I can barely smell it at all… but then I can? like the closer / more I try to smell it, it disappears. But then if I just wildly wave my wrist around/near my face… there it is again. It’s very slippery & elusive. Its similar to Dolceaqua by Masque Milano - DA is slightly more defined, potent, long lasting, a bit more soft, soapy, fresh powdery etc. I can pinpoint *exactly* where I sprayed it lol def not as evasive as Blanche. But Blanche is still beautiful - they both are! Dominique Ropion is my favorite perfumer of all time and anything I've smelled from him has been quality, quality, quality. From my last 5 favorite, amazing discoveries, 4 have been his masterful creations. So I was very excited to finally get to get my hands on Papilefiko. This one is playing mind games with me, while I was comparing Papilefiko to Tero, they had something similar in the scent profile.

Just a moment ago we took a leisurely walk and watched the leaves fall. The ground was dry and the air filled with spices. Must have been a city park and somewhere on the corner someone was apparently selling waffles and spicy tea. The opening conveys the pleasant citrus fruits, it’s got sharp citrus, ya limes, yer bergamots, but quite muted allowing for a nice translucent veil you can see the rest of the fragrance through, as it were. I get a slight facet of like grapes or pear or something, but immediately levied against dry GnT Sparkle, which continues the dehydrated theme into vetiver territory. Then it goes off the reservation for me, souring down on skin to a dry boring, papery, base which to me is predominantly Iso E Super or Timbersilk. Sure I’ll give you that there’s ambroxan and sandalwood molecules too if you insist but it mainly smells of arid, bready, 🥖 wood, with only shades of the top and heart left after a relatively short period.Mr. Sam here is the twin brother of Halfeti, also created by Penhaligons under the crafted hand of Mr. Provenzano, I would not wonder if Mr. Sam is also his creation, even if the perfumer´s name is not present here nor on Fragrantica.

But slowly the sun went down and you went home again. Once there, the stove was loaded with wood and a warming fire was lit. At a business appointment to radiate Confidence and to bring the last persuasive power with you. Or at a wedding to become the compliment magnet of the evening This is a perfume that I would not recommend blind buying as it smelled SO differently on my boyfriend to myself. Personally, I've never been a huge fan of Vetiver so was not expecting to like it but on my skin Vetiver is not the most prominent note. It's a great composition as I can smell every single note and it works really well. On my skin, I get a dose of citrus and floral on a bed of creamy sandalwood. Almost smells like the love child of Penhaligon's Heartless Helen and Monsieur Beauregard with a tiny bit of Vetiver and Ambroxan thrown in, making it an unoffensive unisex perfume. In its final hours, the white musk becomes slightly creamier, warmer and sweeter, as rose and a tonka-like golden powdery note become more noticeable. The sillage is relatively close in general, and the longevity is around 11 hours. Scents were issued regularly from the original shop on Jermyn Street, until it was destroyed in The Blitz of 1941. The shop disappeared, but the fragrances of the company endured, and in 1956, Penhaligon's was granted a Royal Warrant by the Duke of Edinburgh for the manufacturing of toiletries.

4 interest-free payments of $77.50. No fees.

Does he have to? Definitely not. Sometimes less is more, and that's what has been perfectly erased in this case. Even though Sam is described in the history of portraiture as being quite indignant, he comes across as a sensitive gentleman. Of course, there's nothing to say about the gracefulness of the flacons. The Revenge of Lady Blanche is a well-blended fresh and warm scent. It is a rare composition and even rarer a good one among its counterparts. Mugler aura is also a blend of freshness and warmness but it is not as well-blended as this one though it is still a good perfume. Its freshness and warmness are kind of separate. What I mean is that you smell the freshness in one sniff and the warmness in another. However this one is not. The freshness and warmness come to your nose at the same time. I don't know how they do this but indeed it is a succeed. As for the fragrance itself, there are no surprises as long as you've familiarized yourself with the fragrance pyramid. Is it special? Yep, a familiar to me in rudiments, spicy-sweet smell that has been refined and can be compared at least a little with V&R Spicebomb. It's particularly closely related to Penhaligon's Halfeti, but without the oud touch and rose, and a bit sweeter instead (more cinnamon?). In the base notes, the two eventually diverge further and tobacco joins in nicely, giving Mr. Sam a much more masculine face than Halfeti. Wearable for me in all situations, in all seasons. Probably more in cooler times, but that remains to be seen. I would associate Mr. Sam with younger gentlemen who can be elegant, but also like to let off steam, while remaining determined - just like his portrait. However, he also invites you to feel good and brings a certain boost to your self-confidence. Somehow also a small replacement for my Egoist by Chanel, which I like so much, but which is less suitable for everyday wear for me. Not too over-the-top like One Million or the Gaultiers, but also not as prudish as other representatives of the spicy genres. Kind of perfect, at least for me.
